The search for economical, affordable,
reliable aircraft engines for ultralight and experimental aircraft
continues. This year mounted on a single place experimental I found a
Walter Mikron, 4 stroke, four cylinder in line, air cooled, 2440 cc
engine from the Czech Republic.
The engine features a gear driven
overhead cam, with a dry sump remotely mounted oil system. The ignition
system featured a dual magneto system, with the fuel system using a
single down draft carb and a dual gear driven fuel pump.
The engine uses unleaded fuel. Puts out
75 hp, and comes with a 12v electrical system which includes electric
starter and alternator.
