SERVICE LETTER #14

SUBJECT E-33 ALUMINUM REAR SPINNER BULKHEADS

TO:               KITFOX OWNERS WITH SERIAL NUMBERS 2 THROUGH 263, PLUS NUMBERS 278, 279, 280, 281

FROM:         DENNEY AEROCRAFT COMPANY

There have been several recently reported incidences of cracks appearing in the rear spinner bulkhead around the E-73 spinner/prop space. In two instances, the entire spinner assembly has become detached.

We are currently testing an new thicker bulkhead (1/8” instead of 1/l6” aluminum material) to replace the old E-33 bulkhead. When satisfactory tests results are achieved with this new E-33A spinner bulkhead it will be made available at no charge to all KITFOX owners upon receipt of their old style E-33 bulkhead.

UNTIL TESTING IS COMPLETED. REMOVE THE E-31 SPINNER CONE BEFORE FURTHER FLIGHT!

After installing the new spinner, always check the spinner and spinner bulkhead before each flight as part of your preflight inspection.
