Service
Letter #15
SUBJECT:
Wing Tanks, WT-1R and WT-1L and Header Tank, IP-4.
TO:
Kitfox Owners with Serial numbers #2 through #270
FROM:
Denney Aerocraft Company
There
have been reported incidences of aluminum particles traveling from wing
tanks to header tanks. We now apply sloshing compound to all wing tanks
and header tanks. If in doubt you may visually inspect your tank; sloshing
compound appears as a white coating on the inside of the aluminum tanks.
IF
YOUR TANK(S) DO NOT HAVE THE COATING IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU APPLY A
FUEL RESISTANT SLOSHING COMPOUND TO THEM AFTER FLUSHING THEM OUT. YOU MAY
APPLY THE SLOSHING COMPOUND TO INSTALLED WING TANKS BY REMOVING THE WING
FROM THE AIRCRAFT.
