KITFOX
SERVICE LETTER #2
SUBJECT:
FUEL TANK INSTALLATION
TO:
ALL KITFOX OWNERS
FROM:
DENNEY AEROCRAFT COMPANY
FUEL
TANK INSTALLATION:
We recommend the use of structural adhesive to join the E-26 Fuel Tank and
the E-21 Filler Neck. Silicon that claims to be gasoline resistant may be
attacked by additives in some brands of gasoline. Some builders have
experienced a physical deterioration of silicon based products used to
join the E-21 Filler Neck and the E-26 Fuel Tank. The silicon has become
stringy and dropped into the tank.
When
fueling the KITFOX use extreme caution and strain all gasoline to remove
any impurities in the fuel. Shell and Chevron Company officials have
assured us that they have no ethanol or alcohol additives. Use only
gasoline with a pump octane rating over 85.
