MZ 201, MZ201, MZ 201 ultralight aircraft engine.

This engine is a restricted and lighter version of the superb MZ202. The same castings are used but by restricting the revs, and fitting a single carb or fuel injector the horsepower is reuced to 45hp @ 4700 rpm. A 90w generator is used and belt reduction saves further weight.

The complete engine is even lighter than the Rotax 277!

Engine type: Twin cylinder in line two stroke.
Cooling system: Free air cooled by propeller, or force air cooled by integral fan (optional).
Rotation: Clockwise when facing propeller. i.e. from the front in tractor format
Displacement: 626 c.c.
Bore / Stroke: 76 mm / 69 mm
Alternator output: Normally aspirated, 90 Watts.
Ignition system: Carbureted / Fuel Inj Fully electronic dual capacitive discharge / inductive mapped system.
Fuel metering: Single carburetor or computerised electronic fuel injection.
Lubrication: Fully synthetic oil, pre-mixed 50:1 in fuel. (unleaded mogas)
Output power: 45 Hp@ 4700 RPM.
Weight: 30 Kgs. Complete with belt reduction & pull start.
Options: Electronic fuel injection. Fan cooling. Gearbox. Electric start.
Guarantee: One year or 200 hours running time.
Time before overhaul: 500 hours running time. (to be increased)
Time between de-cokes: Due to high efficiency, this engine should not normally require de-coking.
