Paladin Mariner - Paladin Industries have teamed
up with Steve's Para Sports to provide the Paladin Mariner. The Mariner is
an amphibious powered parachute capable of landing and taking off after
coming to a full stop, on water. To
accomplish this the Mariner is equipped with the ParaMast system.
"The ParaMast system is a patented device designed to hold the canopy
of an aquatic or amphibious powered parachute off the ground or out of the
water during takeoff and landings." For
the novice looking at the unit - it appears that too large poles, attached
to the sides of the craft, similar to what you might see used by a
pole vaulter are used to suspend the chute in the air. An
advantage of this system is that because it keeps the parachute
semi-airborne, the chute inflates faster, eliminating oscillation
experienced by some ppc's during take off. The
Mariner is flown on Air - Tech floats and is powered by the 80 or 110 hp
fuel injected Hirth engine. The craft delivered to the customer is
pre-assembled and fully loaded with instruments, floats, and training
