ThunderGull 2000 single place ultralight
aircraft from Earth Star Aircraft.
Each year I go to Sun N Fun and Airventure and I see a little Thunder
Gull painted up with a map of the U.S. on it. The map depicts the
route that Mark Bierle has taken to get to the show flying his Thunder
Gull.
This year Mark had a new plane based on the older Thunder Gull. The
differences according to Mark allow for a faster building time, better
performance, and less weight.
The Gull 2000 still uses the same aluminum cantilever wing and welded
4130 fuselage - but instead of an aluminum rivet on front nose, a new
fibreglass enclosure has been added.
This allows the Gull 2000 to fit into the U.S. ultralight category - or
to be built with a larger motor under the experimental category.
