Single place Part 103 ultralights in the United States are defined as single place ultralight aircraft that weigh 254 lbs or less, have a stall speed not more than 24 knots, a top speed of 55 knots, and carry no more than 5 gallons of fuel. To fly a legal Part 103 ultralight aircraft in the United States the pilot does not require a pilot license. Single place aircraft weighing more than 254 lbs. in the U.S. require a pilots license and must be built as experimental, amateur built, homebuilt aircraft. These include weight shift aircraft, more commonly known as trikes, powered parachutes, and powered para-gliders. Single place ultralights in Canada can weigh up to 1200 lbs. and an ultralight pilots license is required to fly them.

CGS Hawk Arrow ultralight, CGS Hawk Arrow ultralight aircraft, CGS Hawk Arrow ultra lite plane, experimental amateur built aircraft.

The CGS Hawk Arrow has been in production since 1989. It is available in either a tricycle gear or taildragger. It features aluminum rivet and bolt together construction covered in standard aircraft covering materials.

It is a high wing, strut braced aircraft in a pusher configuration. Controls are standard stick and rudder controls, with ailerons and flaps, center mounted stick, left hand throttle and a steerable nose wheel / tailwheel.

It has a very unique look to it as the main boom as a slight bend to it, and the rest of the craft is built around it.

 

Standard features include 16 inch wheels, curved overhead and windshield with full enclosure, should harness pilot restraint, and streamlined struts.

Options include the Hirth 2703 or 2706 the Rotax 503/582, electric start, folding wings, brakes, trim tab, larger fuel tank, wheel pants ballistic parachute, instruments, and floats.

The kit is also available in fast build kit form or ready to fly.
