Propeller  protection for ultralights and ultralight aircraft. On certain model year Rotax 447 ultralight aircraft engines the top engine cowls were aluminum. These cowls were reported to crack, with pieces braking off and exiting the ultralight aircraft into the propeller Check the two top shrouds for cracks especially around the exhaust manifold and intake manifolds if you have the aluminum engine covers. The solution is to replace the two covers, with the steel covers that were used on the older 377 models. These can be obtained on Ebay or any Ski-doo snowmobile dealer or snowmobile recyclers. When replacing the covers it will be necessary to replace both the intake and exhaust gaskets as you will have to remove both to install to install the new covers. There are 4 exhaust gaskets and 4 intake gaskets, two located outside of the covers and two inside.
