Hiperlight ultralight and light sport aircraft from Sunrise Aircraft Corporation.

The plane was a the single place Hiperlight by Sorrel
Aviation. Since then I have seen and flown several Hiperlights. Sorrel was a small family run business which also
produced a line of experimental aircraft.
I have never seen the factory at a show so it was with some surprise that I found a
Hiperlight fuselage on display at Paradise City. |

 Apparently the production rights for the plane has been sold to Sunrise Aircraft out of
Sheridan Oregon. Sunrise will be producing both the single and two place Hiperlight.
The Hiperlight's are enclosed cabin, negative stagger
bi-planes, in a tractor configuration. The fuselage is an all welded 4130 chromoly steel
structure.
The wings and fuselage are covered in heat shrunk dacron fabric (Stits
style) with aluminum flaperons."
 When powered by the 277 Rotax engine and a 170 lb. pilot on board the single place
Hiperlight cruises along at an honest 55 mph. with stall coming in at 27. Climb rate at 40
mph hour comes in at 600 feet per minute.
But why waste you time with the 277?
Put a little 447 or 503 in this little bird and you have one hell of a barn stormer!
