The plane is a tail dragger, tandem seating in a
tractor configuration. Building times for kit construction is about 600
hours. No special tools or knowledge is required.
Kit construction is
described as " lot like putting a wood model aeroplane kit
together." Quick build kits are also available which will save you
125/150 hours on construction.
The craft can be built in a single car
garage. The Horizon 11 was designed to handle engines ranging from 65 to
125 HP. Another nifty feature is that the Horizon has a folding wing.
A T.U.F. VIEW
The Horizon 11 uses standard stick and rudder control, with center mounted
sticks. A small windscreen helps keep the bugs out of your teeth. Cruise
depending on engine power ranges from 75 to 100 m.p.h., stall is a very
comfortable 40.
An experienced pilot should be able to get the plane
airborne in about 350 feet. Climb rate at gross is around 900 feet per
minute.
